Nazita Lajevardi

J.D., Ph.D.

Welcome! I am a political scientist and attorney at Michigan State University working on issues related to race and ethnic politics, political behavior, voting rights, and immigration. 

I received my Ph.D. from UCSD in 2017, my law degree in 2012 from the University of San Francisco School of Law and my Bachelor's degree in 2009 from UCLA. As a postdoctoral fellow at Uppsala University on the  CONPOL project, my research focused on civic skills and participation.

My work has been published in journals such as The Journal of PoliticsPolitical BehaviorJournal of Race and Ethnic Politics, and Politics Groups and Identities, among others. It has also been featured in the popular media, including The AtlanticThe New York Times, The Washington PostVox Magazine, and The Huffington Post.
